THE GREAT RISE
Situation
Created as a coalition of cannabis farmers and their supporters, The Great Rise was brought together to ensure that equality and a level playing field were baked into the legislation that Minnesota would adopt for the fledgling industry.

We helped draft the equity and licensing schema as well as pioneering legislation to expunge the records of thousands of those convicted of cannabis possession.
Expungement Campaign
While we were using the public comment period to help rewrite and augment initial legislation, we took the bold step to push legislators to create avenues to expunge the records of those previously convicted of cannabis related offenses.

To advertise this opportunity to lawyers and those with criminal records we turned to incarcerated artists and paid them to produce works of art for the campaign. (Original Art Featured at Right)
Expungement Clinics
After securing the pro-bono efforts of dozens of law firms across the twin cities we held two different city wide events where thousands of previously convicted individuals were able to have their records expunged, paving the way for their access to many more employment opportunities.
Campaign Posters
Placed all around the state as well as digitally online, these posters drove the awareness campaign and secured future for thousands of Minnesotans.
